American Financial Realty Trust has formed a strategic alliance with Bank Property Advisors LLC of Chicago to target community banks' real estate assets. Through its new Community Banking Program, the Jenkintown, PA-based REIT—which has done plenty of sale-leasebacks and acquisitions of unoccupied branch facilities with banking giants—“intends to expand its bank branch holdings leased to community banks,” it announced.
