Already the most expensive of any major region in the country, the California hotel/motel market became even more expensive amid record sales in the first half of this year, according to a report just released by the Costa Mesa-based Atlas Hospitality Group, a hospitality property brokerage house. The average priced hotel room in California, in the first half of 2005, sold for $97,361, up a hefty 32.7% from $73,353 in the year-earlier period, reports Atlas.
